The family behind the Sterzingerhof

House, kitchen and wine cellar are in good hands with the Siller family – since the 1970s, today led by the second and third generation: Armin at the stove, Doris at the table and in the wine cellar, Aaron throughout the house across the inn, kitchen and service. Personal, honest and warm-hearted.

History & Region

Sterzing, the Fugger town on the Brenner

Sterzing lies in the Wipp Valley on the Brenner route. The Fugger town combines its typical bay-window facades with lively city life: in 1280 Sterzing was granted its town charter, and silver and lead mining in the surrounding valleys – on the Schneeberg, in Pflersch and in the Pfitsch Valley – made the town one of the wealthiest in Tyrol during the 15th and 16th centuries. Later, its strategic position on the Brenner axis gave the town renewed importance: with the construction of the Brenner railway line, a masterpiece of railway engineering, Sterzing was directly connected to the European rail network around 1867. The 46-metre-high Zwölferturm tower remains its landmark to this day.

By car: a few minutes from the Sterzing motorway exit (A22) – simply park directly at the Europaplatz parking garage (approx. 9-10 € / 24h), just a short walk from the inn.
